Alpcot Agro has been actively farming in Russia since 2007 and in Ukraine since 2008.


In 2007, the Company harvested about 12,600 tons of grains and sunflower on 10,500 hectares.

 

In 2008, the Company harvested about 150,100 tons of different crops on 55,600 hectares. The average yield for winter wheat was 3.5 tons per hectare.

 

In 2009, the Company harvested about 169,300 tons of different crops, mostly wheat, sunflower and rye on 65,800 hectares in Russia and 11,700 tons of mostly wheat on 6,200 hectares in Ukraine. The average yield for winter wheat in Russia was 2.8 tons per hectare in Russia and 2.3 tons per hectare in Ukraine.

 

In 2010, Russia was hit by a long drought which led to historically low yields. That year the Company harvested only about 98,900 tons on 65,500 hectares in Russia and 10,900 tons on 5,300 hectares in Ukraine. The average yield for winter wheat was 1.7 tons per hectare in Russia and 2.6 tons per hectare in Ukraine.

 

In 2011, the Company is in the process of harvesting about 92,300 hectares of crops for sale. The final harvest report will be released around the end of October/beginning of November.
