In order to satisfy requirements from state and local authorities and to benefit from synergies with the crop production operations, Alpcot Agro also runs dairy farming operations. By December 2008 Alpcot Agro had about 2,400 milk cows on four farms. The company is renovating the premises, purchasing new modern milking equipment and has seeded corn and fodder grasses to improve the livestock feed. These measures aim to improve the quality of the milk and increase the average production capacity per cow.
