2006 Year of incorporation
2007 Alpcot Agro expanded quickly on the back of significant investor interest
Three consecutive share issues raising SEK 228 million, SEK 270 million and SEK 360 million respectively. At the end of 2007, Alpcot Agro controlled about 93,000 ha of farmland in Lipetsk, Tambov, Voronezh and Volgograd in Russia. Due to operations starting late in spring, the harvest was insignificant.
2008 Continued expansion during the first half of 2008 followed by halt to further expansion
At the end of the year, Alpcot Agro controlled 135,000 ha of farmland in Russia after establishing a presence in the Russian regions Kurgan and Kursk. In late spring, Alpcot Agro established a presence in Ukraine, controlling 4,600 ha at the end of the year. Alpcot Agro harvested in total 55,600 ha in Russia.
2009 Focus on consolidation and land bank structure
Land under control in Russia and Ukraine increased to 170,000 ha and 7,400 ha respectively. Alpcot Agro harvested about 72,000 ha in total. Alpcot Agro’s shares were listed on NASDAQ OMX Stockholm.
2010 Acquisitions in Kaliningrad and Ukraine. Severe drought in Russian inland
Alpcot Agro raised SEK 235 million in a preferential rights issue in January to finance consolidation of the operations in the Russian inland and to expand in Kaliningrad and Ukraine. Alpcot Agro harvested about 71,000 ha. At the end of the year, Alpcot Agro controlled 188,700 ha and 15,800 ha in Russia and Ukraine respectively.
2011 Investments focusing on Ukraine and livestock in Russia
Alpcot Agro raised SEK 322 million in a rights issue in April. The proceeds are being used to consolidate Alpcot Agro’s crop production in Russia, repay convertible bonds, expand the livestock business in Russia, and to increase the harvested land area in Ukraine to about 13,800 ha in 2011.
